Summer Reading!

I love to read! I've always love to read.  When I was younger, I must have read every book in the Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High series along with things from Judy Blume and any other teen author.  I normally enjoy reading books from authors like Sophia Kinsella, Nicholas Sparks, and Emily Giffin.  This summer I branched out a bit and finally read the Fifty Shades Series.  I must have read the entire trilogy in a week!  I'm an old fashion reader though...no kindle or nook for me! I get such a thrill out of buying a new book and curling up. The summer is the easiest time for me to get through a good read, so I am proud that I've knocked a few good books off my list!

Stella & Dot

I am hosting a Stella & Dot trunk show at Monkee's on Wednesday. Stella & Dot has some lovely jewels with lots of color. I can't wait to see all the pretties!

The 2 Little Girls That Hold My Heart

I spent several hours with my most adorable nieces last week so their Mom and Dad could have a date night.

We spent time outside running and swinging and eating popsicles! I gave them a bath to wash their filthy little toes, and then we did my girly girls favorite...painted our nails! After they dried, we curled up on the couch for a Disney movie and some popcorn.

I wouldn't trade my time with them for anything in the world!

Kitchen Envy

Ahhh...DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS!  We are in the process of doing a small kitchen reno.  New cabinet fronts, new countertops, and new floors.  I'm so excited, because ever since we bought our home 7 years ago I have wanted to have a new kitchen floor.  Ugh, I despise the one we have and can't wait to see it go!  Needless to say, I've been all over the internet looking for inspiration.  Here are some of the dreamy kitchens I'm eyeing!

A Weekend Getaway!

It's the holiday weekend that officially kicks off the beginning of Summer!  It's the weekend after my 1 year wedding anniversary.  Brian has been so busy with getting our beach house ready for the rental season that we haven't had a weekend to ourselves.  We decided to take this long weekend and hit the beach.  It's a much needed trip, and I'm looking forward to a getaway with my husband!  Late night walks on the beach, good food, sand and surf, and a bit of relaxation is headed our way.

We are so fortunate to live so close to the beautiful Crystal Coast!

A Rainy Sunday

It's been such an eventful and productive weekend.  Friday night I hosted wine club at our house, and enjoyed getting to use some of the wonderful serving pieces we received as wedding gifts!

I would love to add some of the Incanto Vases and Candlesticks to my collection!

Saturday was spent with some great JWA (Junior Women's Association) ladies at our 2nd Annual Touch A Truck Event.  Last year we raised $10,000 that was donated to Habitat for Humanity and The Food Bank.  I can't wait to see how much we raised this year!

I enjoyed the rest of the day doing some much needed errands around town.  I needed to pick up my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding, and stock up on some of my essentials at Ulta.  I then went to Plant and See.  I could spend hours there trying to pick the perfect flowers for our yard! I left with my seasonal favorite, a white mandevilla, and a white jasmine vine to grow on my new trellis.

After a much needed nap, I went to a get together with some more fab ladies from JWA. Since Brian was out of town, I went stag, and am glad that I decided to go.  I had a great time getting to know some new ladies, and am looking forward to the next time!

Today's been a rainy day, and I've been trying to catch up on my DVR.  I took a quick trip to Target, and purchased a new door hanger for our side door from Etsy.  I can't wait for it to come in!
